Goodbye BLACK THING aka: the big boat

The year was 2010
We had been living in Derby for 5 years with a smaller boat and had made up our mind it was time to upgrade to a bigger boat. Not just any bigger boat though, Johnno had a picture in his head of the ideal boat he wanted, but could not find it anywhere. We drove to Perth, 2200km's, to check out the BOAT SHOW.
After a full day looking and talking to everyone at the Perth Boat Show, we finally crossed paths with the owner of the Trailcraft boat building company! Johnno was explaining everything he wanted on his ideal boat. ''You need to come to our factory in the morning, we are building your dream boat at the moment.'' So we went, we looked, we fell in love. And so it was we purchased Black Thing straight out of the factory, first in it's line! We waited for a few days for everything to be finished, than drove it home to Derby.
We have had 10 years of fun adventures with this beauty. So many wonderful memories of taking friends ''Up the coast'' from Derby to the Buccaneer Archipelago, like this day in photo below.

Photo above: Exmouth, Yes we are getting towed back! But on a Positive Note in Exmouth we also Swam with a Whale Shark straight off the side of Black Thing, and Karen caught her first Sailfish on Black Thing!
After a couple of years living in Exmouth we ended up back in Derby.

After a few years back in Derby we realised we were using our tinny ''little thing'' a lot more than we use Black Thing. We started talking last year about selling Black Thing. We hadn't put any real thought into it, and we hadn't got to the point of advertising it for sale. But being such an Awesome boat it was only a matter of time, and word of mouth, that someone interested would come forward wanting to buy it. Then within a week everything just fell into place. As smooth as silk everything just happened perfectly. We sold the Black Thing to a wonderful couple who are going to have amazing adventures and use it as much as we used to.
BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!
While writing this, I was planning to end with our new plans: Johnno has his next ideal boat already in his head.....
BUT....TODAY WE BROUGHT THAT BOAT!
Once again it was perfect timing, everything just fell into place.
A friend of ours, no longer living here, advertised his 4.5m tinny for sale. As soon as we seen it we both knew, this is it! Johnno knows the boat, actually he has even caught a sail fish on this boat already!! So be sure to check out Positive Fishing on YouTube for a whole bunch of new adventures coming soon!! I have to go now, it has been such an exciting afternoon, I need to let it sink in, a lot more information and photos, blogs, YouTube episodes coming this year. WOW, just WOW! Isn't life amazing!!
